Recognizing that public service attorneys play a critical role, but that law school loan debt can make such positions unaffordable, the NYSBA has launched the Student Loan Assistance for the Public Interest (SLAPI) Program. To be eligible, you must have been admitted to the bar within the last five years, work full-time in a designated public service position, have incurred law school debt through institutional sources and meet enumerated salary limitations.

The program parameters are fully explained in the Program Description. To apply for a SLAPI award, complete the Application and two certification forms (Employer and Lender) and submit them by December 15, 2003. If you have any questions, please call (518) 463-3200.
