The pandemic has brought dramatic changes to the ways in which city streets are being used and the modes of transportation that people are using to navigate them.  “Slow streets” movements have prioritized streets for pedestrians rather than vehicles.  Bicycles and scooters have increased in popularity.  There is concern that people will be unwilling to use public transportation or rideshare and instead, will drive themselves to work, increasing traffic congestion and pollution.  Join Gail Gottehrer, Founder of the Law Office of Gail Gottehrer, Ronald J. Hedges, Senior Counsel at Dentons US LLP, Carrie Sauer, Director, University of Pennsylvania Center for Safe Mobility, and Dr. Megan Ryerson, UPS Chair of Transportation at the University of Pennsylvania, as they discuss these trends and:

  • legal issues associated with micromobility and rideshare;
  • whether to require non-essential workers to return to work in offices knowing they will have to use public transportation; and
  • privacy and security considerations with the collection and use of mobility data and associated litigation.
