According to the CDC, at least 1 in 7 children have experienced child abuse or neglect in the past year, and a report of child abuse is made every ten seconds (childhelp.org). Teen dating violence is potentially a precursor to intimate partner violence (NIJ). Last year, about 1 in 12 US high school students experienced physical dating violence (CDC). Elder abuse is often a silent problem that affects 1 in 10 Americans aged 60+ by robbing them of their dignity and security.
