National Cancer Legal Services Network Conference

Topics:
  • Health Care

The National Cancer Legal Services Network (NCLSN) is hosting a national conference on Friday, November 16, 2012 in New York City. Attorneys and health care providers currently working with people with cancer as well as those interested in starting cancer advocacy programs will not want to miss this one-day opportunity to learn about recent developments in the legal and economic landscape for cancer patients and their families as well as program models and strategies for coping with compassion fatigue. Kicking off the program will be keynote speaker Dr. Eric Manheimer, Former Medical Director, Bellevue Hospital and author of Twelve Patients: Life and Death. He will share what he has learned as a doctor on the front lines at a major medical facility, caring for cancer patients but also dealing with his own cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment. The remainder of the conference will be devoted to a series of panels on topics including the role of legal services in patient navigation, health care reform, developments in insurance coverage, employment and more. Don't miss this valuable chance to learn, dialogue and network with your colleagues and friends in the cancer advocacy community. NCLSN is a coalition of attorneys, legal service programs, cancer support organizations and health care providers.
