Podcast 3: The Rolling Jubilee Edition

Back in March, two MFY staff attorneys attended an event put on by Strike Debt, which put a spotlight on the issue of medical debt. Strike Debt is a coalition that arose out of the Occupy Wall Street movement, whose goal is to build popular resistance to all forms of debt. The event was also a celebration of the success of one of Strike Debt's major initiatives -- the Rolling Jubilee. Through the Rolling Jubilee, Strike Debt was able to purchase and abolish over $1 million in medical debt. We had a chance to speak briefly with Luke Herrine, Laura Hanna, and Thomas Gokey about the origins of the Rolling Jubilee, as well as its future.
