Training Information:
This course provides an introduction to volunteering at the Civil Legal Advice and Resource Office (CLARO). Topics include ethical considerations, client interactions, pre-litigation and the life of a debt, the court process and key motions, substantive defenses, negotiating a settlement, stipulations, and preparing the pro se consumer debt defendant for trial.

3 CLE credits available. Appropriate for newly admitted and experienced attorneys.

Your Commitment
This course is FREE to those who volunteer for 6 total hours with CLARO or 12 total hours with the Civil Court consumer debt pro se assistance programs by May 28, 2019. The commitment may be different for the Civil Court Programs. Experienced attorneys receive additional CLE credit for every 2 hours of eligible pro bono service. The cost is $150 for attorneys who do not wish to volunteer.
