This program provides an overview of New York law that affects many low-income tenants, including eligibility for subsidies, procedures for challenging denials and terminations of subsidies, an overview of New York City Housing Authority Administrative (NYCHA) administrative proceedings, and Housing Court practice and procedure basics. Whether you already work in this field or are considering taking a pro bono case, you will benefit from this training. This is an area where capable legal representation can help families save their homes and avoid the displacement and disruption that result from eviction.

Attorneys and advocates interested in learning about housing law for low-income renters in New York should attend this informative program.  Pro Bono attorneys deciding whether to take on a pro bono housing case are particularly encouraged to attend.
