CLINIC Advocacy Attorney Christy Williams will review what happened in immigration legislation during the 2016 session and offer strategies for advocates. She will discuss how state lawmakers addressed refugee resettlement, sanctuary cities and other crucial issues through legislative means during the session and understand how those bills, whether they passed or not, affected immigrants. Additionally, the webinar will include a brief overview of United States v. Texas and what implications, if any, it has on states. Guest Speakers Rachel Pollock of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas and Ingrid Delgado of Florida Catholic Conference, who battled against multiple anti-immigration bills, will speak about the challenges they faced and the best practices they found most helpful.
