The Dodd-Frank Act made the Qualified Written Request (QWR) an even more powerful tool for consumers and consumer advocates. By integrating the QWR into their settlement conference practice, savvy attorneys can gain important information without relying on the representations of appearance attorneys. This training will cover a description of the rules governing QWRs, suggestions of how to incorporate QWRs into settlement conference representation, and a discussion of how the QWR interacts with the ethical rules related to communications with represented parties.
