This training will provide a brief overview of mortgage lending and servicing, illustrating the roots of the current home ownership crisis. Advocates will learn what red flags to look for when speaking to clients with mortgage difficulties and how the foreclosure process works in New York. Loss mitigation options available to clients who may be able to sustain home ownership under President Obama's "Making Home Affordable" plan will also be covered.
