Stakeholder Forums: Long Term Disaster Recovery
- 11/9/2009
- HUD
Dear Colleagues,
The Long Term Disaster Recovery Working Group, co-chaired by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano and Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan and comprised of the Secretaries and Administrators of approximately 20 departments and agencies, will provide President Obama with recommendations on how to improve long-term disaster recovery with a particular focus on catastrophic disasters.
Between November 10 and November 23, the Working Group will convene stakeholder forums in New York City, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, and Memphis. Your input is critical. People with special needs must have equal access to emergency programs and services, which may entail modifications to rules, policies, practices, and procedures. Service staff may need to change the way questions are asked, provide reader assistance to complete forms, or provide assistance in a more accessible location. For more information or to RSVP for the meetings, please contact the following individuals:
