MI: Dispatchers get language tool

St. Clair County Central Dispatch now is offering the Language Line, which allows 911 dispatchers to speak with callers who know limited English with an interpreter on the line. The Language Line has access to more than 170 languages. Dispatchers will receive training on how to identify languages, but if the language cannot be determined, Language Line workers can help. The service is available around the clock. Other county departments, including circuit court, probation, Friend of the Court and the prosecutor's office also will be using the service soon.
