"NEW YORK - New York City Housing Authority residents who were expected to lose heat and hot water due to planned repairs Tuesday will not be left in the cold after all.

The agency had announced heat outages at buildings in the Castle Hill Houses in the Bronx - which also lost hot water Monday night - as well as Campos Plaza 2 and Fulton Houses in Manhattan and the Whitman Houses in Brooklyn.

The repairs have now been postponed until Friday.

NYCHA says when the temperature goes below 42 degrees, it cancels planned outages.

Residents were particularly frustrated becauses these are problems they've been facing for years.

"It can be frustrating. I have children. I mean, it really throws me off. Normally every morning I give them showers and stuff like that. And that was something I really can't do this morning," said another resident.

In response to the outages, the Legal Aid Society released a statement saying, "The Housing Authority must clearly do a better job to prioritize and complete this work ahead of the heat season instead of waiting to the last minute."..."
