NC Will Let Out-of-State Attorneys Aid Florence Victims

"The North Carolina Supreme Court has approved a temporary amendment to the rules of the North Carolina State Bar to let attorneys from other states register to provide pro bono assistance to residents of the state who were affected by Hurricane Florence.

The services must be provided through a legal aid organization, and the temporary amendment will expire on Jan. 16, 2019. The Supreme Court announced the order Oct. 2.

“I am pleased that victims of Hurricane Florence will now have an easier time obtaining the legal assistance that they may need to help recover from the effects of the storm,” said Chief Justice Mark Martin in a statement..."
