With Hate Crime On The Rise, This Pro Bono Website Is Helping Victims Fight Back

 

"According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), reported U.S. hate crimes have risen by almost 5% lately, while civil rights groups believe that number could be much higher due to underreporting.

In response to this trend, a group of leading technology and legal experts have joined forces to build a digital platform that lets victims of potential hate crimes safely and discretely take a stand and be counted.

Launched this fall, Hate Crime Help is a free and privacy-geared website aimed to make it far easier for victims to report incidents of hate and find local support than has previously been the case for most Americans..."
