U.S. Senate unanimously passes domestic violence legislation introduced by Alaskan Senator

 

"The U.S. Senate has unanimously passed the Power Act, legislation that helps promote pro bono legal assistance for victims of domestic violence.

The legislation was introduced by Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan and North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp.

Sullivan wrote on social media that the legislation "will encourage lawyers across the country to get involved and help victims who too often fear or are unfamiliar with the justice system.""
