STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Video cameras were installed in several interview rooms in the new Staten Island Courthouse for security reasons and not to spy on criminal defendants, the city said Tuesday.
On Monday, the Legal Aid Society announced plans to file a lawsuit to remove the cameras from four interview rooms for lawyers and criminal defendants awaiting arraignment.
