Helping Handbook imageIn the wake of Superstorm Sandy, the New York City Bar Association reached out to Morrison & Foerster LLP to assist storm victims.  The firm was already well known for its outstanding work providing Helping Handbooks to victims during September 11th, Hurricane Katrina and other disasters, so calling on them to assist after Superstorm Sandy was an obvious choice.  Heeding the call, Morrison and Foerster provided Superstorm Sandy Helping Handbooks for affected New Yorkers in record time.  Working around the clock, the firm put together a Handbook that provides an overview of issues that victims may face and resources that are available to them as a result of Superstorm Sandy.  Within ten days of the storm, Morrison & Foerster completed the handbooks and had them off to the printer!  As of this month, ten thousand copies have already been distributed to storm victims by community organizations, neighborhood community centers and legal service providers.

The Handbook is targeted to individuals, families, and small businesses in New York affected by Superstorm Sandy.  The New York City Bar owes a debt of gratitude to Morrison & Foerster and the following individuals from the firm who assisted in providing such an amazing resource in record time: Luke Bagley, Jennifer Brown, Jinyoung Choi, Larry Cohen, Daniel Hannon, John Hempill, Alexander Lawrence, Jamie Levitt, Jeremy Mandell, Dan Matza-Brown, Barbara Mendelson, Takeshi Miyamoto, Benjamin Smiley, Paul Thornfeldt and Jenny Wang.
