Northeast New Jersey Legal Services

NNJLS is a non-profit corporation that provides free, civil legal assistance to low-income residents of Bergen, Hudson and Passaic Counties. We provide a broad array of legal services, including representation, advice, advocacy, community education, information and referrals in the areas of housing, family, public benefits, employment, consumer, individual rights, education, predatory lending, health law and community economic development. We also have special programs for providing services to seniors and victims of domestic violence. Members of the private bar provide free legal assistance to NNJLS' eligible clients in a variety of civil matters, including consumer, bankruptcy, family, housing, elder law, education law, public benefits and more. This assistance ranges from brief advice, to full representation in civil matters, depending on the attorneys' interests, skills and availability.
