Associate Product Manager (Immigration Advocates Network)

The Immigration Advocates Network (IAN), an innovative collaboration of 12 leading immigration advocacy and legal support providers and Pro Bono Net, is hiring an associate product manager to support the development of innovative technology to increase access to justice for low and moderate-income immigrants. This position requires familiarity with product management and project management principles and best practices (particularly the agile development process); and ability to work effectively as part of a distributed team. This is a full time position, with excellent benefits, including 4 weeks paid vacation. The associate product manager will be an employee of Pro Bono Net and based in New York City.
Responsibilities:
- Manage project timelines, maintain product roadmap, and track lessons learned for continuous improvement;
- Support the product manager in the development and systematic prioritization of the product backlog;
- Coordinate and track product requests from internal and external stakeholders;
- Engage with quality assurance (QA) staff to coordinate, track, and prioritize testing efforts and product releases;
- Track and coordinate resources and needs during discovery, development, UAT, and implementation phases;
- Coordinate the creation of user stories, wireframes, and designs in collaboration with subject matter experts, content managers, designers, developers, and business analysts;
- Ensure that all requirements documentation is tracked and up-to-date;
- Track and manage post-implementation feedback from customer and partner support staff to help prioritize features for future iterations; and
- Support the product manager in communications with, and management of, external vendors, including time tracking and invoicing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree required, preferably in a related field;
- 2 years previous experience in technology project or product management preferred;
- Excellent attention to detail, and strong project management and planning skills;
- UX and web design experience preferred;
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
- Understanding of web information architecture and ability to quickly learn product features and capabilities;
- Strong technical skills and ability to understand and refine requirements throughout the software development lifecycle;
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative;
- Ability to plan, multi-task, and collaborate with many individuals/stakeholders;
- Experience with, or ability to learn, issue-tracking, project management, project documentation and test-case management software, including Atlassian JIRA and Confluence;
- Proficiency in, or ability to develop proficiency in, a wide range of software, including word processing tools, presentation software, diagramming software, and graphic design applications;
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, agile software development principles and Scrum methodology.
