Pro Bono Net - Program Coordinator

Pro Bono Net, a national nonprofit organization using innovative technology to increase legal assistance for the poor, seeks a highly qualified candidate to join our team as Program Coordinator. This position will develop and maintain partnerships with nonprofit legal aid organizations building innovative web-based resources to serve pro bono, legal aid and other public interest legal advocates, and help to define and oversee related product road maps. This full-time position reports to the Program Director and will be based in Pro Bono NetÂ’s New York City or San Francisco office, but a remote location will be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development and Support
- Support the planning, deployment and maintenance of probono.net advocate websites with state and national justice community partners.
- Lead regular meetings with partners and participate in project stakeholder meetings.
- Provide consulting to partners on content, outreach, collaboration and evaluation strategies.
- Identify project expansion opportunities and work with partners to grow their projects.
- Participate in a team developing and deploying an innovative online triage pilot; work with project partners and PBN staff to evaluate project and assess opportunities for replication.
- Liaise with other PBN program staff to facilitate awareness and adoption of related technology innovations, including LawHelp Interactive, LawHelp, Citizenshipworks and other virtual assistance platforms under development.
Product Management
- Help to define and oversee the web-based and mobile product road map for the probono.net platform.
- Participate in weekly technology team meetings to review, analyze and prioritize technical issues, and provide programmatic guidance on new functionality.
- Assist with the development of new project proposals including requirements-gathering, the creation of requirements documentation, wireframe design, and other support as needed.
Capacity-Building and Program Administration
- Interface with other PBN staff to provide technical training, troubleshooting and support to project partners using PBN platforms.
- Collaborate with other PBN program staff to design and deliver both in-person and webinar trainings for partners and the community at large on PBN resources and the transformative role of technology in legal services delivery.
- Work as part of a team to maintain platform documentation and support knowledgebase.
- Contribute to fundraising activities, including assisting with grant proposal development, tracking, and reporting.
- Maintain reporting systems to document work with each partner in an efficient and effective manner.
- Participate in network and industry listservs to share best practices and support network-building.
Candidate Qualifications
- JD or advanced degree and 2+ years of relevant experience working with pro bono, public interest legal or access to justice organizations.
- Web-savvy and fluent in the discussion of web-based tools; demonstrated ability and strong interest in using technology to support innovative approaches to service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, work well with people, and foster and facilitate collaboration.
- Confident and skilled communicator (written and verbal) particularly the ability to make technology understandable to people without a technical background.
- Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multitask, establish priorities and achieve results.
- Strong self-motivation and initiative required, with ability to thrive and be resourceful in a dynamic environment with new challenges to solve.
- Ability to work well with others and coordinate team projects involving on-site and remote collaborators.
- Willingness and ability to travel several times a year.
