Pro Bono Net Celebrates 15th Anniversary, Honors Founding Board Chair

NEW YORK, NY - Pro Bono Net celebrated its 15th Anniversary last week with an evening reception at Latham & Watkins. Over one hundred supporters, partners and friends attended the event to celebrate the anniversary and honor Michael A. Cooper, the Founding Board Chair of Pro Bono Net.

The evening program included remarks by Aric Press, Vice President & Editor in Chief at ALM and Pro Bono Net Board Member; Liz Keith, Pro Bono Net Program Director; Geraldine P. Mannion, Program Director for the U.S. Democracy and Special Opportunities Fund for the Carnegie Corporation of New York; Hon. Albert M. Rosenblatt; Hon. Jonathan Lippman, Chief Judge of the State of New York; Michael Hertz, Chief Marketing Officer at White & Case and Pro Bono Net Co-Founder; Michael A. Cooper, Of-Counsel at Sullivan & Cromwell and Board Member of Pro Bono Net; and Mark O'Brien, Pro Bono Net Executive Director.

Pro Bono Net, the nonprofit leader in technology solutions to expand access to justice, launched its first site, www.probono.net fifteen years ago. Today, probono.net has more than 100,000 members, and our programs have been adopted in 45 states, by hundreds of access to justice organizations and law firms, and reach thousands of volunteers. As Chief Judge Lippman remarked in his address, "we need new and innovative ways to combat the justice gap...and that is what Pro Bono Net is all about."

Pro Bono Net also debuted a new video at the event. The video highlights Pro Bono Net's use of technology to empower vulnerable individuals and facilitate collaboration across the legal community, increasing access to justice throughout the country. It can be watched below:
