Pro Bono Net, a national nonprofit organization using innovative technology to increase access to justice, seeks a highly qualified candidate to function as a Development Associate, based in our New York office.

This position will provide critical support to the organization’s fundraising program, working with the Director of Communications and other senior staff. 

Responsibilities include:

• Research foundation, corporate, law firm and individual prospects for the organization and its programs.
  
• Participate in the preparation of corporate and foundation proposals, solicitation letters, support materials, acknowledgements, progress reports and related fund development correspondence.
  
• Maintain prospect, donor, grants, submission and contribution records and files, using the DonorPerfect Online database
  
• Assist in planning and organizing special events
  
• Provide support to the Fundraising committee and staff involved in development activities
  
• Assume additional tasks as determined necessary for the successful implementation of fund development strategies
  
• Assist with other revenue-generating activities
  
• Assist with Pro Bono Net’s social media efforts by posting on Facebook, Twitter, organizational blog, etc.
  
• Assist in communicating with Pro Bono Net’s membership of 80,000-plus attorneys to keep them informed about and engaged with the organization

Desired Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree required
• An articulated belief in the mission of the organization
  
• 2+ years of development experience or transferable skills with a proven track record of success
  
• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communications skills emphasizing the ability to listen and hear others
  
• Well-honed organizational skills with attention to detail
  
• Strong computer skills; experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, blogging)
  
• Integrity
  
• Sense of humor
