Pro Bono Net and Morrison & Foerster Present Free Webinar for Pro Bono Attorneys

Online training will help volunteer lawyers get involved
NEW YORK (Oct. 19, 2009) Pro Bono Net, a leader in innovative programs that increase access to justice, and international law firm Morrison & Foerster, will present a free webinar on Oct. 30th to help attorneys get involved in pro bono work.
The webinar coincides with the first annual National Pro Bono Celebration, which is scheduled for October 25-31. Sponsored by the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service, the celebration is a coordinated national effort to showcase the great difference that pro bono lawyers make to the nation, its system of justice, its communities and, most of all, to the clients they serve
The webinar will show how attorneys can use the tools and resources on Pro Bono Net’s website, www.probono.net, to connect with volunteer opportunities, live and virtual training and searchable libraries of practice resources. More than 55,000 attorneys and advocates use Probono.net to access pro bono opportunities and training libraries maintained by public interest legal organizations and law firms nationwide.
“Many attorneys want to get involved in pro bono work, but aren’t sure where to begin or whether they have the right skills to help people in need,” said Mark O’Brien, Pro Bono Net’s Executive Director.  “Pro Bono Net makes it easier to find projects that meet your interests, get connected to the resources you need to be effective, and start making a difference.”
“Our attorneys have an ‘ah-ha’ experience the first time they visit Pro Bono Net,” said Jennifer K. Brown, Pro Bono Counsel at Morrison & Foerster.  “They are thrilled to discover a central location for such a rich array of truly useful resources.”
The 30-minute webinar will be held Friday, October 30th at 1pm EDT / noon CDT / 11am MDT / 10am PDT.  To register, go to www.probono.net/webinar.
