This webinar will provide a basic overview of housing nondiscrimination entitlements for people with disabilities. Relevant federal laws include Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 ("Section 504"), The 1988 Fair Housing Amendments Act ("FHAA") and the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Additional, long-standing state laws including the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), the Unruh Civil Rights Act (Cal. Civ. Code 51), the California Disabled Persons Act (Cal. Civ. Code 54.1), and Cal. Gov. Code 11135. Particular focus will be given to how "reasonable accommodation" entitlements can be valuable to attorneys and advocates doing eviction defense work, and other types of legal services housing law.
