Legal Aid Society of Hawaii Pro Bono
The Legal Aid Society of Hawaii created Partnership in Pro Bono to provide high quality, full representation in civil legal matters free of charge to low income and underserved individuals throughout the State of Hawaii.
Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii
Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii offers a variety of pro bono opportunities that allow attorneys to apply their legal expertise while accommodating their schedule, availability, location, and interests.
MAKING PRO BONO EASY
VLSH’s Neighborhood Legal Clinics are for advice and counsel and last approximately 30 to 45 minutes for each clinic participant.
The volunteer attorney may have anywhere between 3 to 4 participants scheduled for a particular clinic date.
All participants are pre-screened by our Intake staff and properly matched with volunteer attorneys depending on legal issue.
Volunteer attorneys are provided a listing of the participants as well as opposing parties prior to the clinic for the purposes of conducting a conflict check. Once cleared, staff then provides the Intake information which contains a brief description of the legal issue and all relevant documents provided by the client.
The attorney/client relationship begins and ends within that 30-45 minute consultation.
