Resources Development Attorney

The California Appellate Project is accepting applications/resumes for the position of Resources Development Attorney as part of the Resources Team, which oversees and supervises our Legal Publications and Resources. This is an existing position that is being vacated. The Resources Development Attorney is responsible for the proactive development and distribution of resources to attorneys appointed in death penalty appeals and related habeas corpus proceedings.

The California Appellate Project ("CAP") is a non-profit law firm established in 1983 by the State Bar of California, at the request of the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court. Its mandate is to assist private attorneys who are appointed to represent defendants in death penalty appeals and related habeas corpus proceedings before the California Supreme Court.

Applicants must demonstrate exceptional proficiency in legal analysis and writing, proven organizational and time management skills to coordinate several projects simultaneously, and strong supervisory skills. Admission to the California Bar and a minimum of five years experience in capital work, including experience in capital habeas corpus litigation, is preferred. This position may require some travel.
