Litigation Section of DC Bar to Help Defray the Costs for Legal Services Attorneys To Attend Litigation Section-Sponsored CLE Trainings

Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia

In a community service effort to ensure that public interest attorneys representing our most vulnerable citizens will have access to high-quality events and trainings, the Litigation Section of the DC Bar is pleased to announce a pilot project through which it will pay 80% of the fees for any legal services attorneys who wishes to attend a Litigation Section-sponsored event or training. To be eligible for the reduced fee, an attorney needs to be employed at a legal services organization which receives funds from the District of Columbia Bar Foundation, the organization founded by the Bar to provide lawyers with a vehicle for funding legal services for the underprivileged. The DC Bar Mandatory Course on the DC Rules of Professional Conduct and District of Columbia Practice and the 2006 DC Bar Judicial and Bar Conference are not covered by this offer. To apply for funding under this pilot project, applicants will be asked to complete a registration form for the specific CLE class and the attached form with payment (20% off the specified cost for the course) and submit to the CLE Registrar by fax at 202-942-9750 or by mail to the D.C. Bar CLE Office. If you have any questions, contact the CLE Director, Lalla Shishkevish at 202-626-3485. The pilot program is subject to available funds and is set to expire at the end of June 2006.
