Incisive Media today launched a new career Web site focused on job opportunities and career management in public interest law. The site, publicinterestlawjobs.com, is a sibling to Incisive’s popular lawjobs.com and features a variety of tools and content for both public interest law organizations and jobseekers interested in public interest law careers. The site also includes links to major public interest law groups, including Equal Justice Works, the Legal Services Corporation and PS Law Net, as well as pro bono news, training and opportunity content from probono.net. All services are free to both employers and job applicants. The site is available now at www.publicinterestlawjobs.com.

“People need legal help more than ever and there are so many opportunities to serve,” said Paul Igasaki, deputy CEO for Equal Justice Works. “Tools like publicinterestlawjobs.com and pslawnet.org connect lawyers who want to do public interest work with employers, efficiently and smoothly.”

“As the leading employment marketplace for the legal community, we also recognize the value and benefit of pro bono. This new site is the centerpiece of our long term pro bono commitment,” said Chris Braun, director of online recruitment for Incisive Media. “In addition to job postings, we hope the site will serve as a focal point for career management information and advice that serves the full spectrum of the country’s diverse public interest law community.”

Employers can set up free accounts on the site for unlimited job postings. Jobs on the public interest site will also appear on the main lawjobs site and jobs entered into the main lawjobs site with relevant keywords will appear on the public interest site.

Online tools help jobseekers create effective resumes and cover letters, and allow them to perform flexible, detailed searches of the job database by job title, category and geography. Users can submit resumes confidentially, respond to multiple openings at one time and create folders to track applications and responses from prospective employers. Search agent profiles can be defined to automatically inform jobseekers by e-mail when a public interest job position that matches their criteria has been added to the job database.

The site also features news, analysis and career advice related to the legal job marketplace, drawn from Incisive’s award-winning national and regional publications, as well as leading legal experts and recruitment and HR practitioners.
