Description of Programs:
Virtually everyone living with HIV/AIDS encounters legal problems associated with his or her health status.  Many cannot afford the legal representation they need to fight for their rights to continue working, maintain access to health care, or ensure their confidentiality.

Founded in 1986, the Whitman-Walker Clinic Legal Services is the only Washington, D.C. area program offering comprehensive pro bono legal services to people living with HIV/AIDS.  We provide direct client services, including counseling, advocacy and representation, in the following areas: confidentiality, debtors' rights, discrimination, immigration, insurance, planning documents, and public benefits.
