Best Practices in Pro Bono is a chance to share advice and tips for improving your pro bono program—together with pro bono coordinators from legal services organizations, government agencies, in-house legal departments, and law-firms from DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

At Best Practices in Pro Bono: Impact Litigation, we'll explore the special challenges and opportunities that come with pro bono work in class action and impact litigation cases. When volunteer lawyers seek to change the shape of the law and benefit entire classes of people, they have the chance to gain new skills and change the world. But, there is also much that can go sideways. Learn from our experienced panelists how to manage the people, information, deadlines, and data that come with taking on major pro bono cases.

Our panelists for this conversation include:

Ted Howard, Pro Bono Partner, Wiley Rein LLP
Chinh Le, Legal Director, Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia
Adina Appelbaum, Program Director, Immigration Impact Lab, CAIR Coalition
Our moderator is Paul Lee, Pro Bono Counsel, Steptoe & Johnson LLP.

Continental breakfast and casual conversation will start at 8:45 am; the facilitated discussion will take place from 9-10:15 am.
