Immigrant-serving organizations face challenges when reaching out to both foreign-born and native-born communities amid a landscape of ever-changing public opinion and political action. Learning data and tools for positioning immigrants as assets, gaining resources for supporting immigrants, and keeping abreast of immigration reform are vital to the success of these organizations. "Talking to America About Immigrants and Immigration" is designed for leaders and practitioners in immigrant-serving organizations nationwide from advocacy/integration to economic development to urban planning who want to be better informed on U.S. immigration issues. These issues include immigrant contributions, messaging strategies for public education, effective programming in immigrant integration, addressing tension between immigrant and African-American communities and progress on comprehensive immigration reform. Drawing on 10 years of research and with a range of partners including the Immigration Policy Center, The Opportunity Agenda and the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians, as well as universities such as Rutgers, University of Southern California and Boston College, The ILC Public Education Institute delivers current, credible and crucial information through this free online workshop.
