Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF): Understanding the New Program Requirements in the District of Columbia

Topics:
  • Public Benefits

The East of the River Casehandlers invite you to a free, half-day workshop in Anacostia on the recent changes to DC's TANF program, such as a new sanction program that can cut families' benefits to $0. This class will help you understand the new benefits reductions and sanctions policies, as well as the assessment process and how clients can advocate for needed waivers and services. Workshop participants will also learn more about the legal aid resources available to TANF and other public benefits recipients east of the Anacostia River. This training is open
to the public and we welcome case managers, public interest/pro bono attorneys and other advocates who assist families receiving TANF benefits.

Speaker: Westra Miller, Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia
