Please join the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center for the first event in our five-part Public Benefits Training Series: Social Security Disability Benefits (SSI/SSDI) and Interim Disability Assistance (IDA). This series is sponsored by the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, Legal Counsel for the Elderly, Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless, and Whitman-Walker Health.

This event consists of two parts: a pre-recorded training and materials on Social Security Disability Benefits (SSI /SSDI) and Interim Disability Assistance (IDA), followed by a live webinar to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the programs.

In the pre-recorded training, Erica Deray (Whitman-Walker Health) and Andrew Patterson (Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia) cover the basics of the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) two disability programs: Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), including eligibility, benefits, and application tips, and information on the transitional benefit of Interim Disability Assistance (IDA).

During the live webinar on September 22nd, Erica and Andrew will discuss the impact of COVID-19 and answer questions from attendees.
