Washington Council of Lawyers presents its Racial Justice Series -
"Rising to the Top: Diverse Executive Leadership for Non-Profits"

During these times when diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are at the forefront of discussions and we are seeing an increase in trainings and proposed legislation, there is still a small number of minorities that command the leadership of non-profit organizations. If you're interested in exploring and discussing how to expand and increase diversity within the leadership of legal non-profits, this is the program for you! At this important and necessary discussion, you will hear from top minority executives as they share details of their amazing journeys in rising to the top level of their respective organizations. Our executives also will share how they overcame the challenges and obstacles placed before them and provide tips on how to navigate the non-profit leadership space.

Our panelists include:

Avis Buchanan, Director, The Public Defender Service of DC
Rochanda Hiligh-Thomas, Executive Director, Advocates for Justice and Education
Glen O'Gilvie, Chief Executive Officer, Center for Nonprofit Advancement
This conversation will be moderated by Henry E. Floyd, Jr., Senior Associate Attorney, Koonz McKenney Johnson & DePaolis LLP and Washington Council of Lawyers Board Member.

This informative panel is free for Washington Council of Lawyers members and $10.00 for non-members. Law students whose schools subscribe to the Public Interest Jobs Clearinghouse also can attend for free. Contact your school's Career Development Office for the registration code.

Join us to find out how you can become the next executive in leadership or how you can help support the diversity efforts of non-profit organizations.

We are pleased to co-sponsor this program with the Women's Bar Association for the District of Columbia.
