Now more than at any other time in our history, the fight to protect civil rights civil liberties has been taken up by lawyers and non-lawyers alike. Pro bono lawyers play a critical role in protecting individuals exercising First Amendment speech rights at protests, providing post-arrest assistance, and making sure that issues like voters rights are guaranteed during a time when in-person voting may not be possible. We will explore all these issues and more at the Civil Rights Civil Liberties panel on Tuesday, July 21 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm ET. A Zoom link will be sent to all registrants the day before the panel.

Brandy Wagstaff, Legal Counsel for Litigation in the Criminal Sections Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit at the U.S. Department of Justice will moderate an expert panel which includes:

Puneet Cheema, Staff Attorney at Lambda Legal
Fatima Goss Graves, President CEO of National Womens Law Center
Jonathan Smith, Executive Director of the Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs
Hassan Zavareei, Partner at Tycko Zavareei LLP
