This training is appropriate for attorneys and attorney/paralegal teams (paralegals must attend with an attorney). Participants should have a basic knowledge of family law in the District of Columbia. This training session is designed to equip attorneys handling family law cases to navigate complex child support issues. Even if child support is not a concern for a client now, it may become important during their case. The ability to understand DCs child support laws and systems can be pivotal at trial, in mediation or during settlement negotiations. The training will focus primarily on child support issues involving indigent or low income families.
