Pro Bono Training: Representing At-Risk Children as a Guardian Ad Litem

Topics:
  • Family / DV

At the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project, we provide in-depth training, supervision, mentorship, an online resource library, and much more to attorneys so they can be a voice in court for vulnerable children.

Judges request the appointment of a guardian ad litem when a child is at serious risk of harm in a custody case, due to factors such as parental drug abuse or family violence. This training will prepare you to advocate for the best interests of children throughout a 6-12 month case.

DC Bar membership is not required to volunteer. To learn more, or to RSVP, please email eplaterzyberk@dcvlp.org.
