Join us this summer for a look at the recently concluded Supreme Court term— through the eyes of the reporters who cover SCOTUS. Our panelists will highlight significant cases, discuss the effects of these decisions, and make a few educated guesses about what lies ahead for the Court.

The panel will be moderated by Arthur Spitzer, legal director of the ACLU of the District of Columbia. This lively group will consider questions such as: Can an Asian-American rock band called The Slants be denied a trademark because that phrase "may disparage . . . persons, living or dead"? Can a Border Patrol officer be held liable for shooting and killing an unarmed Mexican citizen when the officer was in the United States and the victim was across the border in Mexico? Can former sex offenders be banned for life from accessing most of the Internet including nytimes.com?

Join us for lunch and the chance to learn about how the justices interact, how things have changed now that Justice Gorsuch has replaced Justice Scalia, whether Justice Kennedy or someone else is likely to retire, and how the media covers the Court.
