The DC Volunteer Lawyers Project (DCVLP) is seeking volunteers to represent domestic violence victims in family law cases. For those interested, DCVLP will be hosting a family law training on September 22nd.

Family law cases present an excellent opportunity to learn a full range of litigation skills, including discovery, motions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation, while helping keep survivors and families safe. This training program will provide an overview of the process for litigating family law cases on behalf of DV survivors. Topics include: dynamics of DV; an overview of custody, child support, and divorce law; and practice and procedure.
