The Affordable Care Act: What Nonprofits Need to Know

Topics:
  • Nonprofit / Community Development

Do you know how health care reform will apply to your organization? Some of the most important provisions in the Affordable Care Act are about to take effect on January 1st, and open enrollment for the DC Health Exchange has already begun. There has been a lot of talk about how the law will impact small employers-not all of it accurate.

Here is your chance to learn what you need to know. Join representatives from the law firm of Patton Boggs, one of the leading experts on the Affordable Care Act, and the DC Health Benefits Exchange Authority.

They will explain the major provisions of the law, and how they will apply to nonprofit organizations. They will help you determine if your organization is subject to the employer mandate; which employees must be covered by your health insurance plan; what are the reporting requirements; and what happens if your organization hasn't complied with the law.

The representative for the DC Health Benefits Exchange Authority will also explain how the DC Health Benefits Exchange works, and how much it could cost to provide insurance to your employees.

There is no charge for the training. Continental breakfast will be served.
