Taking the Mystery Out of Risk Management and Insurance for Nonprofits

Topics:
  • Nonprofit / Community Development

Every year you write a check for your insurance. Have you ever wondered what you are buying? Will it protect your organization when you need it? Is there anything more you should be doing?

This seminar will review the legal and practical issues involved with risk management. It will discuss what steps you should take to prevent losses and what you can do to avoid being sued. It will also review what risks insurance will cover, and the various types of insurance, including director's & officers insurance, workers compensation, general liability insurance, property coverage and professional liability insurance.

Finally, it will tell you what to do if you have a claim, and what steps you can take if you feel your insurance company is not giving you the protection you deserve.

This workshop is designed for executive directors, CFOs, and administrative officers, as well as in-house counsel for nonprofit organizations.

The seminar will be held October 29 from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. at the offices of DLA Piper, 500 8th Street, NW, near Gallery Place Metro.

Please click here to register. A luncheon will be served at the seminar. The registration deadline in October 21st.
