Domestic Relations 101: An Introduction to Divorce, Custody and Child Support

This program provides an overview of cases handled by the Domestic Relations Branch. In addition to offering invaluable practice tips, the panel of experts will discuss the law governing divorce, separation, annulment, marital property and debt distribution, child custody and child support. The presentation will cover issues that commonly arise in DRB cases, jurisdiction of the courts, alternative dispute resolution options, pretrial and trial procedure in the DRB and the wealth of family law pro bono opportunities. This program is a great introduction to domestic relations for new practitioners, those looking to expand their practice and attorneys interested in family law pro bono work, as well as a wonderful refresher for the more seasoned family law attorney.
