New Smartphone App Launched to Assist Mexican Nationals in U.S.

Monday, November 04, 2013

Earlier this month, the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Embassy in Washington, DC unveiled a new application for smartphones and tablets called MiConsulmex, a free and accessible interface for the Mexican community in the United States to obtain information on services, protection, and events offered by Mexican consulates nationwide. Undersecretary for North America, Sergio Alcocer and Mexico's Ambassador to the United States, Eduardo Medina Mora made a joint appearance at the Consulate General of Mexico in San Antonio on October 7 to unveil MiConsulmex. This innovative new app — which holds significant potential for impacting the daily lives of Mexican immigrants — may well be replicated by other foreign governments seeking to provide improved services and support to their nationals who reside in the United States.
