- Organization: DC Bar Consortium
The D.C. Bar Pro Bono Program is pleased to announce the public release of six interactive, online self-help court forms for use by pro se tenants and landlords. Through the use of guided interviews, this online self-help program presents users with a series of simple, plain language questions - the answers to which are used to complete court-approved pro se pleadings that users can print and file with the Court. We have been working on these forms for many months, which have been beta tested on the intended client communities.
Users now have access to six interviews on LawHelp.org/DC under the Eviction subtopic:
Answer in a Residential Landlord-Tenant Case (all possible Answer forms are integrated into one interview)
Application to Proceed In Forma Pauperis
Motion to Modify Protective Order
Motion to Vacate Default Judgment and Quash Writ
Motion to Vacate Dismissal
Notice Quit for Nonpayment of Rent.
Please send us your feedback and the feedback of your clients.
The Pro Bono Program currently is working on interviews for the pro se Family Court pleadings and expects to post those in early spring.
This is a project of the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Program, with cooperation from the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, support from the D.C. Consortium of Legal Services Providers, and funding from the D.C.
Thanks to you all, and especially to our project coordinator, Michael Grunenwald.
