Description:
Learn how to assist immigrant victims of crimes of domestic violence, sexual assault, felonious assault, kidnapping, and other related crimes who have assisted in the investigation and/or prosecution of the criminal activity committed against them.
This four hour CLE will teach participants how to work with low-income clients of diverse cultural backgrounds, identify issues which could prevent applicants from obtaining a U visa, prepare a waiver for such issues, obtain certification from law enforcement, and submit a winning U visa application as an affirmative application to US Citizenship and Immigration Services and as a possible defense to removal proceedings.
