National Pro Bono Week Celebration

Members of the __________ Bar Association are putting the focus on pro bono by sponsoring a legal clinic for the residents of St. Ann's Senior Home on Thursday, October 29 , at the facility. The clinic is part of the first National Pro Bono Week Celebration.

"Our senior citizens often have unmet legal needs. They can have questions on their wills, powers of attorney, or other concerns and not know who or how to ask," says ____________, president of the _________ Bar Association. "We are looking forward to answering their questions by providing this service.

The National Pro Bono Week Celebration focuses attention to the legal work lawyers do in their communities to improve the lives of their friends and neighbors. According to a study released in February 2009, nearly three quarters of lawyers in the United States report doing pro bono work. "We believe the American Bar Association recommendation that each lawyer performs a minimum of 50 hours of pro bono service each year allows the legal community to support the greater community," says Mark Schickman, chair of the ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service.
