Philadelphia Bar AssociationThe Philadelphia Bar Association is presenting a live webcast entitled Pro Bono Representation of Nonprofit Organizations on October 28, 2021 from 12:30 PM-2:30 PM Eastern.

Celebrate Pro Bono Week with this timely and informative CLE program!

Nonprofit organizations are legal entities that are exempt from federal and state income, sales, property and other taxes.  Some nonprofit organizations, known as public charities or "501(c)(3) exempt organizations," can also accept tax-deductible donations from individuals and other entities. Representing a nonprofit organization requires a knowledge of the laws that govern their formation and the law granting exemption from taxes for such entities.

Learn how to assist pro bono clients with forming a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation and applying to the IRS for tax-exempt status. This presentation will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to represent nonprofit organizations through various public interest legal service organizations. We will be joined by representatives from several different organizations to hear about the various pro bono opportunities offered by their organization.

Attend this program to hear the basics of representing nonprofit organizations.
