Mass migration into the United States over the southern border continues unabated despite immigration policies, both harsh and humanitarian, that span across administrations. This webinar will focus on migration through the documentary film, A Bridge Apart. The film documents the journey of the thousands of migrants from Central America and Mexico who leave their homes and families. It highlights the extraordinary brutality and loss of life migrants face traveling to the United States and economic-based solutions focusing on the right to stay home.

The distinguished panel of experts and scholars includes a co-producer of the award-winning film, A Bridge Apart, as well as national advocates and academics. The panelists will offer a robust examination of the many factors that influence mass migration and analyze challenges and solutions. The panelists will examine the following questions: How do political, environmental, social and other factors serve as push factors? What impact do our domestic policies have on migration patterns? As a nation of laws, what are our responsibilities to ensure due process for all who cross our borders and what does due process require?
