New Jersey has a backlog of over 60,000 eviction cases as a result of the eviction moratorium. As the eviction moratorium will soon end, new laws and procedures are being put in place to address the backlog of cases and reform the system that has long disadvantaged tenants who lack representation. This free virtual CLE program will provide an update on New Jersey landlord-tenant law following new developments in New Jersey landlord-tenant law. The presence of an attorney can be life changing for tenants, and this training will prepare you to be an effective advocate for your clients.

Speakers:
- Jessica Kitson, Esq., Senior Managing Attorney, Volunteer Lawyers for Justice
- Allison Nolan, Esq., Staff Attorney, Volunteer Lawyers for Justice

*NOTE: CLE fees are waived for non-attorneys and attorneys who agree to represent one VLJ pro bono client (one per course you attend) in the area of law covered by the training, within the proceeding year. Indicate your volunteer interest upon registration and no payment is required.
